I am a freelance travel, food and lifestyle writer / photographer based in Alberta, Canada - near to the majestic Canadian Rockies. This page
I wanted to write, but growing up with dyslexia and not being able to read or write well for most of my childhood, made this seem impossible. With the help from a few dedicated teachers, reading and writing started to come - and it continued to grow.
I joined the Institute of Children's Literature and was mentored by: Judith Lehne, author to multiple children's books, and Jeffrey O'Hare, author of over 50 Children's books and television writing credits for such shows as Smurfs, Scooby-Doo and Dennis the Menace.
My educaton continued and I became a personal chef and professional photographer. My images have received numerous awards and have been in a variety of solo and group exhibitions around the world from New York City to The Louvre in Paris, France. Six images were part of a travelling road show with the International Associaton of Panoramic Photographers.
My images have been featured on Global TV, in Photo District News One Life International Catalogue, CTV News, the Weather Network, The International Association of Panoramic Photographers Panorama Journal, exhibitions and many more and has been published in books, journals, catalogues, cards, calendars and has been shown on television, the internet and on home and business walls.
In November 2016, I had my first book published - Light Changes Everything which became a #1 International Best Seller in 5 different categories - including photography, lighting and motivation. I was also a co-author for the book Yes You Can anthology series. Other articles have been published on websites - (pet, jewelry, photography), digital and print magazines - (Life By Design, Our Canada Reader's Digest, Alberta Motor Association), and with Matador Network.
My training continued with the AWAI - American Writers and Artists Institute - (for B2B Copywriter, Copyediting, Public Relations, and a Certified Case Study Writer), and with the ITWPA - International Travel Writers and Photographers Alliance - (Travel Writing, Travel Photography, Blogging, Tours). I am a member of the Professional Writers' Alliance, Canadian Association for Photographic Art,
My travels have taken me to: 10 Canadian Provinces: (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick). 19 USA States: (Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, Georgia
18 trips to the Hawaiian Islands - Oahu, Kauai, Maui, Hawaii). 5 Euopean Countries: (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland).

Like most people, I had a traditional career and was employed in healthcare and insurance for 25+ years as a Case Manager utilizing my skillset to write Policy and Procedure Manuals, Accreditation Manuals, Training Courses, Corporate Education Material, Media and Website Content for various industries.
I knew that one day, I would work as a writer / photographer full-time. That one day - is now. Blending my photography, culinary knowledge and travel experiences with creative storytelling, has became a natural fit as a travel, food, and lifestyle writer.
